‘They said he couldn’t have a child’ – Priscilla Ojo reflects on past claims about Juma Jux
By Valerian Khakayi, May 10, 2026Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo has opened up about the rumours and assumptions that once surrounded her husband, Tanzanian musician Juma Mkambala, popularly known as Juma Jux, especially before they had a child together.
Priscilla, speaking during a candid interview on the With Chude podcast, discussed Jux not having a child before marriage and the assumptions some Tanzanians made because of it.
She said people often questioned his situation simply because he had not become a father at the same time as his friends.
According to her, there were constant talks and speculation around Jux, with some people even questioning why his life seemed different from his peers who were already starting families.
She added that the comparisons became louder as his friends had children, leading to more questions and assumptions about his personal life and past relationships.
“In his country, they were always saying that,’ooh he cannot have a baby’, but they did not know he was very ready,” Priscilla reflected.
“Because his friends have had babies and they were, ‘Why is he different?’ Obviously, he has been in past relationships, and there were questions, but he knew when it was time.”
Priscilla noted that despite the rumours, Jux remained focused on what he wanted in life and did not allow public pressure to define his journey into fatherhood.
“He knew what he wanted because at the end of the day you can grow with certain people and not be like them,” she stated.
Pregnancy rumours
Speaking about her pregnancy with Jux, she said that the speculation intensified, with some people even suggesting it was a result of surrogacy or medical procedures.
“They were even saying it was surrogacy or an implant,” she added.
Juma Jux on having kids
Priscilla’s reflection comes after Jux opened up about having children.
Speaking during an interview on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, the musician explained that while it would have been easy for him to have children at any time, he has been deliberate in choosing the right partner and the right timing to start a family.
Jux emphasised that, for him, having a child is a significant decision that goes beyond simply starting a family.
“It was possible for me to have children at any time, like other people, but I was never stressing over not having sired any because I knew I could anytime. For me, having a child is not just anything; it’s a big thing,” he said.
He shared that the biggest challenge in building a family was finding the right partner who aligns with his values and vision.
The timing of starting a family was less of an issue because he believes that divine guidance plays a role in such important life decisions.
“I had to be deliberate about who I have a child with and whether the timing is right. Timing was not much of an issue because I believe God helps with that. You also have the power to wait,” he said.
Jux revealed that some of his personal goals for 2025 arrived sooner than expected, highlighting that life often brings unanticipated blessings when one is patient and intentional.
“The biggest hurdle for me was finding the right person. That’s why some of the things I hoped for in 2025 came sooner than I anticipated,” Jux added.
