Celebrated Kenyan singer and actress Judith Nyambura Mwangi, better known as Avril, has opened up about turning 40, embracing the milestone with confidence and pride while sharing what she says keeps her looking and feeling youthful.
Speaking during an interview on Monday, May 4, 2026, the Chokoza hitmaker said she is proud of her age, noting that life on her fourth floor has been kind to her.

She added that she still feels strong and energetic, joking that even her knees are holding up just fine.
Avril credited her lifestyle choices for her youthful glow, pointing out that staying hydrated plays a big role. However, she also shared a more humorous but relatable secret for avoiding stressful relationships.
“I just turned 40 and am very proud of my age. So nimeingia fourth floor, magoti bado ziko fiti, bado niko poa nakunywa maji sana,” Avril said.

The veteran singer also reflected on her journey in the music industry, revealing that she started young and has remained relevant over the years.
Avril said she officially stepped into the scene at 18 while in her second year in university, although her passion for music began much earlier.
In addition, she expressed excitement that years later, she is still active and recognised in the industry, a testament to her consistency and resilience.
“I joined the industry when I was 18 years old, Nikiwa campus second year at university, but way before nilikuwa njaribia alafu nikiwa second year ndio tukarelease chokoza and it is so exciting that so many years later bado niko hapa,” she added.

In a heartfelt message shared on Sunday, May 3, 2026, as she celebrated her 40th birthday, Avril said she felt deeply blessed and grateful for the overwhelming love she received from fans, friends, and family.

Avril added that she was excited about stepping into a new chapter in her life, describing it as a journey she is ready to embrace fully. Avril expressed optimism about what lies ahead, saying she feels prepared and “strapped in” for the ride.
The singer went on to thank her supporters, wishing them abundant blessings in return for the love they had shown her.
