Sifuna says DJ Spider targeted with lucrative deal after Oburu’s ‘Hatuna DJ’ complains

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has said that DJ Spider has been approached by rival outfits attempting to lure him away with lucrative deals.
The revelation comes after Orange Democratic Movement (Oparty leader Oburu Odinga complained during a Linda Ground rally in Siaya on Saturday, February 21, 2026, questioning whether the event had a DJ.
The revelation comes after Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Oburu Odinga complained during a Linda Ground rally in Siaya on Saturday, February 21, 2026, questioning whether the event had a DJ.
Sifuna revealed that DJ Spider, who has been bringing life to their rallies with refreshing music, powering the crowd through by reading the mood and serving great music that captures the moment, is being sought by a rival camp that has been impressed with his skill.

In an interview with a local radio station, the ODM Secretary General recounted that the DJ has been with them since the time of Raila Odinga.
DJ Spider’s choice
Sifuna explained that DJ Spider made a choice to stay with the ODM faction that is opposed to Ruto’s second term bid.
“DJ Spider yeye mwenyewe alisema anaona pahali spirit ya Baba iko. Wameanza kutafuta DJ Spider wetu na wanataka kumpatia bonge la offer,” Sifuna explained, adding that the decision is up to the DJ to make and insisting that they will not block him from pursuing greener pastures.
This loosely translates to: “DJ Spider himself said he knows where Bbaba’s spirit is. They are looking for him with lucrative deals”.
He hilariously recounted how the DJ would prepare opposition supporters whenever police officers showed up with water canons by playing Uninyunyizie Maji, a popular gospel song in reference to the anticipated showers.
Lively rallies and blending music with politics
DJ Spider has been bringing the festive mood to Linda Mwananchi rallies, contributing to the vibrant and charged atmosphere that is reminiscent of the rallies addressed by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Known for accurately reading the moment and serving music to capture the moment and fire up the crowd, DJ Spider was a constant figure at Raila Odinga’s rallies.

Unlike the rival faction led by party leader Oburu Odinga, whose rallies have been lacking life with the DJ caught in an awkward situation in which he appeared to have slept on the job last Sunday, DJ Spider’s presence is not only felt, but also heard through music and the charged atmosphere.
“DJ hakuna? Hatuna DJ (Don’t we have a DJ?” Oburu asked on the microphone after reading the mood and failing to see the excitement in the crowd while he was on stage in Siaya.
