Salasya trolls Babu Owino and Sifuna as Linda Mwananchi takes a break
By Charles Ouma, February 24, 2026Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has trolled his Embakasi East counterpart Babu Owino and Orange Democratic Movement Secretary General Edwin Sifuna following an announcement that the Linda Mwananchi rallies would take a break.
In a video posted on his social media platforms on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the lawmaker claimed that the wave generated by Babu Owino and Sifuna has since died down, and mocked them for being unable to sustain the momentum.
The outspoken lawmaker claimed that the whole political movement fashioned by Sifuna and other firebrand politicians was founded on excitement over little money.
He added that compared to the outfit, he performed better as he traversed the country for three months before taking a break, unlike the Linda Mwananchi camp, which announced a break after just three rallies in Busia, Kitengela and Kakamega.

Salasya said that he would be back with more rallies with a clear vision for the country.
“I told you guys that Linda Mwananchi was only excitement ya pesa kidogo afadhali mimi. I went across the country 3 months consecutively daily…very soon I am coming back strong as a passionate leader with a vision of Kenya,” he said.
Salasya claims politicians have ditched Sifuna and Babu
According to Salasya, politicians who flanked Babu Owino and Sifuna have since retreated back to their positions in the united opposition.
“Leo umeona wale watu walikuwa plae jwa hiyo movement wamerudi kwa Matiang’i. All these people wamerudi sasa movement imebaki kama haina mtu, haina mwelekeo,” he said.
This loosely translates to: “All their political associates have rejoined Matiang’I and the rest, leaving the Linda Mwananchi outfit with no clear path with no members”.
He once again claimed that the Linda Mwananchi outfit is a decoy used by influential people to confuse Kenyans so that they don’t focus on the real issues and corruption in government.
The legislator further dared the duo to bolt out of ODM and form their own political party if at all they are serious in their claims that they are defending Kenyans.
Why Linda Mwananchi took a break
During the rally in Kakamega on Saturday, February 21, 2026, Sifuna announced that they would be taking a break.

He explained that the pause was necessary to allow muslims across the country to focus on the holy month of Ramadan.
The Senator diclosed that once the holy month is over, the rallies would resume with Mombasa being among the frst stops, followed by other counties.
