Ruth K recounts her son’s non-stop crying ordeal and how it broke her down
By Keya Frankline, January 20, 2026Content creator and influencer Ruth K reveals how her son Calvin Carey stopped crying after meeting his father, Mulamwah. Ruth gave in-depth details on her first video of 2026 on her YouTube channel.
While many families were celebrating the festive season, Ruth found herself overwhelmed with her son. Her son cried continuously, and she shared a snippet of her son crying for 8 days.
Calvin also was not eating any food at the time. Her son was crying nonstop during the 2025 festivities, and Ruth terms the period as the most challenging time of her life, saying, “The last days of 2025 broke me down.”

She explains that the situation worried her deeply and pushed her to seek help from her family. This is following countless hospital visits, only to be told the son is okay. Ruth reveals she used up her savings on hospital tests, saying, “Nilitumia savings zangu kama 82k hivi.”
Unfortunately, there was no progress with the son, as the tests were coming out negative, showing the son is well. After consultations, Ruth shares that she received advice on enquiring about her customs, as it seemed to be the solution for her son. “Kaa ni hivo tokeni Nairobi sahii,” Ruth quotes her dad’s words after telling him of the advice she received.
Traveling to Kitale
She then decided to travel upcountry in Kitale with her son. Calvin’s condition made it impossible to use public transport, making them opt for a private car. Ruth highlights that the journey was challenging, but her only focus was ensuring her child’s well-being.
When they arrived at her parents’ home, the family held a prayer session for the child. Ruth explained that her father is a prayerful man and believed spiritual support would help calm the boy. After the prayers, Calvin slowly relaxed. Although he did not stop crying completely, he became calmer and was finally able to sleep.
Ruth later shared that her parents live close to Mulamwah’s home. Her father suggested that Calvin should visit his father, saying, “Wacha aende kwa watu wao.”, believing it might comfort him further. Despite her fears and emotional struggle, Ruth agreed because she wanted what was best for her son.
Ruth shares that when Calvin arrived at Mulamwah’s home and saw his father, he immediately ran to him and hugged him tightly. At the visit, Ruth watched a post online where her son was calm and happy again.
She described the decision to let her son visit his father as the hardest one she has ever made, but also the most necessary.
Ruth emphasised that her main priority was her child’s happiness and peace. She said seeing Calvin relaxed after days of distress reassured her that she had made the right choice as a mother.
