Rose Muhando: God instructed me to hold off on collaborating with Rayvanny

Veteran Tanzanian gospel singer Rose Muhando has revealed that her decision not to collaborate with Bongo Flava star Rayvanny in his latest album was guided by divine instruction, not personal preference or musical differences.

Speaking during an interview with a local Bongo radio station on Thursday, January 15, 2026, Rose was asked about claims that another artiste had taken up a collaboration slot on Rayvanny’s album The Big One after she declined to work with him.

The host specifically referenced a song on the album featuring Mwamposa, which had sparked speculation that Rose had turned down the opportunity.

“On Rayvanny’s album titled The Big One, there is a song he did with Mwamposa, and it has been alleged that the collaboration came about after you declined to work with Rayvanny. What can you say about that?” the host asked Rose.

In response, the gospel singer clarified that she has never rejected Rayvanny or any other artiste outright, insisting that her music career is governed by spiritual direction.

She explained that her work operates under what she described as the Kingdom of God, where decisions, including collaborations, are made according to God’s timing and instructions.

“I have never turned him down. You see, I work within the Kingdom of God, and many of the decisions we make, even the work we take on, are guided by God,” she shared.

According to Rose, God indicated that the moment for her to work with Rayvanny had not yet arrived, though it was not a permanent rejection.

“So when God says that at a particular time things should be a certain way, then that is how it will be. Regarding this collaboration with Rayvanny, God said the time had not yet come,” she said.

Secular music

The singer was keen to dispel claims that her hesitation had anything to do with Rayvanny being a secular artiste.

She stressed that secular musicians are also God’s creation and should not be judged based on the genre of music they perform.

“However, He did not forbid it because the music is secular. No. Even those artists who sing secular music are still children of God. They were created in His image, so you cannot judge someone simply because they do secular music,” Rose said.

Rose further illustrated her point using a biblical analogy, referencing the prophet Hosea, who was instructed by God to marry a prostitute as a symbolic message to Israel.

She explained that the story demonstrates how God does not reject people based on their lifestyles, but instead uses them to fulfil a higher purpose.

“There is a prophet in the Bible, Hosea, who was instructed by God to marry a prostitute, even to go to places where people danced naked and marry her. Through that, God wanted to show Israel that their ways were no different from those of the prostitute. God was saying that even that woman belonged to Him. She was His child as well,” Rose narrated.

According to Rose, should the time come when God instructs her to collaborate with Rayvanny, she would do so in obedience, humility and reverence, noting that God always has a reason for His directives.

“So for me, as Rose Muhando, if the time comes and God tells me to sing with Rayvanny, I will do it in obedience, in fear of God, and with humility. Rayvanny is God’s child, and God always has a reason,” she shared.

She also outlined how believers discern divine guidance, saying God communicates through signs such as dreams, scripture, and an inner conviction that confirms His will.

“Those of us who believe have ways of knowing when God has spoken or given instructions. One is through signs in dreams and through the Word of God. But God also confirms it by speaking to your inner heart, through that still inner voice,” she added.
