Rena explains why she refused to move into Ritchie’s house after their reunion

Speaking during a casual conversation with Ritchie and gospel musician couple Wapendwa Muziki, Rena admitted that she was not comfortable with the house, describing it as a space that would have required significant effort to make it feel like home.
“Ni a lot of things. First, I did not like the place, hiyo nyumba kuipanga ingekuwa kazi,” Rena revealed.
Beyond the physical space, the mother of two also hinted at deeper concerns that made moving into the house even more difficult.
She revealed that another person was living there, a factor that made the idea of living there feel emotionally complicated and inappropriate.
“Then, there was another person there, so I could not have gone back to the place and the altar,” she added.
For Rena, the decision ultimately came down to her need for a fresh start. Rather than revisiting a space tied to the past, she emphasised her desire to move forward and create a new chapter as a family.
“I need to start afresh,” Rena firmly said.
Rena’s and Ritchie’s reunion
This comes weeks after Rena shared details about how their reunion came to be.
Speaking during an interview with Oga Obinna on Monday night, March 2, 2026, Rena revealed that Ritchie was the one who made the first move after their breakup.
According to Rena, the reconciliation began when Ritchie unexpectedly reached out to her. At the time, she had been holding on to faith and hope, encouraged by people around her to keep praying for restoration.
“He was the one who reached out; since people were telling me to keep praying, I always felt like there was room for restoration and God’s miracle, so when he reached out, I believed the prayers were answered,” Rena revealed.
Rena described the moment as surprising and almost unbelievable. She admitted that the way Ritchie contacted her caught her off guard.
“He reached out in such a funny way; it happened so fast, at first I thought it was a joke, it took me a while to believe what he was saying,” she added.
The decision to reunite, however, was not an easy one. Rena acknowledged that many people questioned her choice to give the relationship another chance. Some assumed she was doing it for the sake of their children, something she firmly denies.
“Mimi vile nilirudi, many people believe that we should not give second chances. Most people thought I was doing it for the children, but when he reached out, I told him I’m not doing this for the children,” Rena explained.
She emphasised that her decision was rooted in her own happiness and personal fulfilment.
“I will never do it for the kids, I am putting myself first, and if I am taking you back, it is for me and my happiness,” she added.
