Presenter Kai’s wife reacts after Pastor Robert urges Christians not shy from drinking alcohol

YouTuber Presenter Kai’s wife, Diana Yegon, has reacted with shock after popular preacher Pastor Robert urged Christians not to shy away from drinking alcohol if they wish to drink.

Speaking in a video shared on her TikTok page on Saturday, January 31, 2026, Diana pressed the preacher to clarify his personal stance on alcohol, repeatedly questioning whether consuming wine could be considered sinful for believers.

“Pastor Robert, do you drink?” she asked.

“Yes, I do. In the evenings, I take some wine. When I feel my stomach is rigid, I may take a glass of wine. And if you came to my house right now, you would find wine there,” he responded candidly.

Still unconvinced, Diana followed up with another question, seeking to understand how his practice aligned with Christian teachings.

“But is that not a sin, since wine has some alcohol content?” she posed.

Pastor Robert dismissed the notion, maintaining that the Bible does not forbid believers from drinking alcohol.

“It’s not a sin. Yes, wine has alcohol, but even mahamri are made using yeast, and alcohol is also produced using yeast. I hope you understand. So Christians can keep drinking alcohol if they want to. It is not a rule against them,” he explained.

However, the preacher was quick to emphasise the importance of self-control, urging believers who choose to drink to do so responsibly.

“Let them drink with moderation because the Bible doesn’t bar them from drinking,” he added.

Pastor Robert went on to challenge what he described as rigid expectations often placed on Christians and church leaders, arguing that some practices widely viewed as unacceptable are not explicitly prohibited in scripture.

“Also, in the Bible, I have not seen where men are barred from wearing earrings or having long hair. There is nothing like that. If I want to preach dressed in shorts, I will. If I want to wear a T-shirt or a cap, it’s okay,” he said.

The preacher further revealed that he does not subscribe to traditional clerical attire, noting that he sees no need to wear the white collars commonly associated with ministers.

Beyond his views on appearance and lifestyle, Pastor Robert shared details about his outreach efforts, particularly his interactions with marginalised groups. He disclosed that he often spends time with sex workers, using those moments to share the gospel without condemning them.

“As a preacher, I also have times when I meet sex workers. I sit with them, we share a meal, and I share the word of God with them. I don’t condemn them,” he stated.

According to the pastor, his prayers for them focus on protection and transformation.

“When I pray for them, I ask God to shield them so I can meet them again and continue praying for them. I have seen some of them quit after some time,” he shared.
