Nyako reveals how her kids reacted after her private photos leaked online
By Steve Ireri, April 3, 2026Germany-based Kenyan TikToker Nyako has opened up about one of the most difficult moments she has faced as a parent, revealing how her children reacted after her private photos were leaked and eventually found their way onto their phones.
Speaking during a TikTok live on Friday, April 3, 2026, Nyako disclosed that she was shocked to learn that her children had access to the images, noting that she does not know how the photos reached them.
She explained that the situation quickly became overwhelming when her children began asking questions she could not answer.
“Just to let you know, guys, my children have my private photos on their phones. How the photos reached their phones, I do not know,” she said.
Nyako admitted that she found herself unable to defend or explain how the situation had unfolded, especially given the sensitive nature of the content.
She reflected on the reality that, as an adult, recording such private material is often done in trust, but that same trust can be exploited when others choose to expose it.
“They asked me questions that I could not answer, and I did not have any other good explanation to give them. I was not able to defend myself on how low I had gone, even to the point of putting the camera to record my private parts,” she added.
She acknowledged that the incident left her feeling exposed and vulnerable, adding that once the photos circulated widely, there was little she could do to reverse the damage.
The TikToker further explained that the emotional weight of the situation was intensified by the difficulty of addressing it with her children.
She pointed out that explaining how such private content ends up online is nearly impossible for a parent, especially when dealing with young children who may not fully understand the context.
“As an adult, how do you do that? You usually record such videos because you trust people with your privacy. And people take advantage of that privacy and later come back at you to expose you, so that you can get embarrassed. It happened, and I cannot turn back time. The photos finally reached me, all of them. And all I can say is that it happened. What else can I say?” she said.

Despite the ordeal, Nyako shared that she has since healed from the experience, noting that her perspective today is different from what it would have been a few years ago.
She emphasised that while the situation cannot be undone, she has come to terms with it and is choosing to move forward.
“So what I am saying is that if it were two years ago, it could have been different. But now I have healed from it, and it is what it is. And I am not lying. I cannot defend myself because, you know, it’s so hard to explain to a small kid how your nakedness found its way online. How do you explain that to a child? They will not understand,” she added.
She also weighed in on similar situations involving other public figures, cautioning that such incidents can have long-term implications for families, particularly children.
Nyako urged parents in similar situations to take steps to protect their children’s identities, stressing that shielding them is one of the most important ways to minimise the impact of such controversies.
“And even this Hanna Benta story, it is just a matter of time before her young son grows up, and she will see her leaked videos too. But Hanna, please also protect the identity of your child. That is the only way you can protect this child,” she said.
