‘Ni kufinish kumalo’ – Gachagua excites supporters as he vows to give Ruto sleepless nights
Rigathi Gachagua has caused excitement among his supporters after promising to give President William Ruto sleepless nights before eventually finishing the latter’s political career and sending him to retirement.
Addressing Democracy for the Citizens Party supporters who gathered at the party headquarters on Thursday, March 19, 2026, Gachagua took a dig at his former boss and appeared to celebrate the president’s recent outburst.
According to the former Deputy President, Ruto is a cornered man, and his recent remarks are a reflection of the anger and frustration boiling within him.

He challenged the president to fire his salvos in Nairobi, claiming that the capital city is a DCP stronghold.
“Tunauliza wewe ukitaka kutusi sisi kuja ututusi hapa Naiirobi pahali ambapo ni ngome yetu ya kisiasa. Hapa tusi sisi Kakamega, Kuja tusi Riggy G Nairobi hapa. Aede aseiende?” Gachagua said.
This loosely translates to: “Why can he insult us right here in Nairobi, that is our turf instead of doing it in Kakamega?”.
Gachagua added that Ruto has reached a dead end and vowed to keep pressing him to the wall and send him to retirement.
“Mambo ya huyu mtu imeharibika, ni kufinish Kumalo (His case concluded, it is not a matter of finishing it completely),” Gachagua told the crowd amid cheers, promising to finish Ruto’s career.
Gachagua: Analia kama panya
He further likened the situation to a rat caught in a trap, adding that he had forewarned the president that he would find it very rough.
“Nameona huyu Kasongo amekasirika sana. Analia kama panya imeshikwa na mtego. Na nilikuwa nimemwambia nitaskuma yeye. Nilimwambia wewe umekasirisha wakenya na hawalali na hata wewe pia tutakukasirisha vile umekasirisha wakenya hautalala. (He is crying like a rat that has been caught in a trap, yet I had warned him. I told him that since he has angered Kenyans who no longer sleep, he too will not sleep),” he added.
Gachagua made the remarks as he welcomed former nominated Senator Millicent Omanga to the party.

Omanga, who has declared interest in the Nairobi Woman Representative position, severed ties with Ruto and his United Democratic Alliance party, aligning herself with the opposition.
