The singer died in a tragic accident along the Nairobi-Naivasha highway on March 16, 2003.

He was 21 years old at the time of his demise and was poised for greatness, with chart-topping hits to his name and having attained legendary status at a young age.

E-Sir life dies in accident

E-Sir and his entourage were heading back to Nairobi after performing at a beauty contest in Nakuru alongside other musicians, including singer David Mathenge, alias Nameless, when tragedy struck.

Nameless, who was riding in the same car with E-Sir at the time of the accident, survived the fatal accident and was left nursing a broken collarbone, along with other injuries and the shock of losing a friend in an accident.

Despite having only lived for a few years, E-Sir shaped Kenya’s entertainment industry significantly and set the stage for the explosion of Kenyan music.

His death was a huge blow, and more than two decades later, Kenyan singers continue to honour his legacy and appreciate his contribution.
