Her remarks come at a time when Eric Omondi is becoming more active in civic matters. Known for blending comedy with activism, Omondi has increasingly focused on leadership and representation through structured efforts aimed at young people.
Recently, Omondi officially launched his first-ever political campaign under the Youth 47 movement. He introduced Charles Kiura, who is contesting the MCA seat for Muminji Ward in Mbeere North. The by-election is scheduled for Thursday, February 26, 2026.

“So yesterday after we launched Youth 47, we also launched our first-ever candidate, Charles Kiura, who is going for the MCA Muminji ward in Mbeere North,” Omondi said in a statement shared on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
He explained that the movement is focused on changing leadership in the country.
“The by-election is set for next month, February 26th,” Omondi said.
He stressed that young people must be given space to lead and make decisions that affect their communities.
“As Youth 47, we believe that a NEW KENYA can only be achieved by a new set of young and fresh leaders,” Omondi added.
