Mulamwah reveals Carol Sonnie put him to test for 1 year before agreeing to meet him again

Content creator Carol Sonnie has criticised comedian David Oyando, famously known as Mulamwah. Mulamwah has opened up about the long road to reconciliation with his former partner, Carol Sonnie, revealing that she put him through a one-year test before agreeing to meet him again.
Speaking during an interview at the Carol Sonnie Show on Monday, December 15, 2025, Mulamwah questioned what eventually changed Sonnie’s mind.
“Kitu ilikushika wapi ndio uka-agree tumeet?” he asked.
In response, Sonnie said her decision was influenced by a personal spiritual journey.

“Niliokoka,” she said, to which Mulamwah replied that he had found Christ earlier.
“Mimi nilimpata Kristo kitambo,” he said.
Sonnie, however, appeared unconvinced, jokingly questioning the depth of his transformation.
“Kumpata sijui ulimpata wapi juu bado,” she remarked.
Mulamwah went on to explain that after telling Sonnie about his faith, she insisted on testing his consistency and intentions over time.
“Nilimpata Yesu na nikakwambia. Na ukaniambia, ‘let me test you.’ Ukanitext mwaka mzima. Si umeona David Oyando hana maneno na uka-agree to this. Zile test nilipitia ndio niongeleshwe hapa ni mingi sana,” he said.
Sonnie clarified that her main priority was their child and not their past disagreements. She said agreeing to meet Mulamwah was about ensuring he could have a relationship with their daughter, Keillah.

“For me to come to an agreement to allow you to see your child, honestly speaking, Keillah is not part of our differences. I’d rather put those differences aside. Yes, I know it took time for me to understand that,” she explained.
Further, Mulamwah addressed the pressure of public opinion, arguing that many relationships today are influenced by social media commentary.
“The problem is that people focus so much on what others will say. Madem wengi siku hizi wako controlled na vile comments zitasema mtu ako. Mtu anaweza kukuambia uachane na huyu and you end up kuachana naye, si kwa sababu ya ukweli, but because of comments and how they want you to live,” he said.
