Beauty in Black season 3: 5 characters who may not make it out alive

Spoiler alert: This article contains major spoilers from Beauty in Black Season 3.

If Beauty in Black has taught viewers anything, it is that getting too comfortable is dangerous. One minute a character is plotting their next move, and the next they are bleeding on a kitchen floor, sitting in a hospital bed or staring down the barrel of a gun. Season 3 takes that habit to another level, ending with a brutal shootout that leaves several major characters fighting for their lives.

The third season has been especially ruthless with the Bellarie family and everyone orbiting its messy empire. Horace and Norman’s bitter feud finally explodes into violence, while Jules turns his grief over his son’s death into a full-blown revenge campaign. By the time the finale reaches Make It Rain, there are more guns than good decisions.

Netflix has confirmed that the fates of several characters are deliberately left uncertain, setting up a major cliffhanger. Here are five characters whose futures look particularly shaky after the Season 3 finale.

Kimmie

Kimmie has come a very long way from the woman who first stumbled into the dangerous world surrounding the Bellaries. By Season 3, she is Horace’s wife, his protégé and an increasingly powerful figure in the Beauty in Black empire.

That power, however, comes with a price.

Kimmie has made plenty of enemies while helping expose the Bellaries’ criminal dealings, and Jules is now determined to make the family pay. During the finale, his plan comes crashing into Make It Rain when armed shooters attack the club.

Kimmie is caught in the middle of the chaos and may have been shot.

The important detail is that the show does not confirm that she is dead, or even definitively confirm what happened to her after the attack. Netflix describes her fate as unclear, leaving viewers to wonder whether she survived the chaos. Taylor Polidore Williams, who plays Kimmie, also points out that Kimmie’s enemies have plenty of reasons to come after her if she survives.

And considering Kimmie’s history, counting her out too early would be a serious mistake.

Mallory

Mallory might have spent much of the season looking like one of the more calculated players in the room, but even she cannot outsmart a hail of bullets.

Her Season 3 journey becomes increasingly violent as she tries to protect herself and maintain her position within the Bellarie empire. One of her biggest confrontations comes when Norman breaks into her home seeking revenge for his wife’s death.

Mallory shoots Norman, leaving him bleeding on her kitchen floor. She believes she has dealt with the threat, but the situation takes another deadly turn when Horace arrives. Norman, despite being badly wounded, manages to shoot his brother before collapsing.

Mallory then survives long enough to reach Make It Rain, only to find herself caught in Jules’ carefully planned attack.

She may have been shot alongside Kimmie.

Once again, the series refuses to give viewers a clean answer. Mallory’s fate remains uncertain, making her one of the biggest question marks heading into the next chapter. Crystle Stewart has described Mallory’s actions throughout the season as survival rather than a thirst for violence, which makes the cliffhanger even more painful.

Horace

Horace has spent three seasons behaving as though the Bellarie empire comes with a lifetime guarantee. Season 3 finally reminds him that even the powerful can bleed.

His relationship with Norman has been poisoned by years of resentment, betrayal and family trauma. Eventually, the brothers’ hostility erupts into a deadly confrontation.

After Mallory shoots Norman, Horace arrives at the scene. Norman, who is badly wounded, finds enough strength to fire at his brother. Horace is shot and rushed to hospital by his security team, while Norman is left behind on Mallory’s floor.

Horace’s fate is not officially confirmed either.

There is, however, one reason to believe he still has a fighting chance. He makes it to hospital, where Angel remains by his side. So while the Bellarie patriarch is seriously wounded, the finale does not give viewers a death certificate.

For a man who has survived this much betrayal, violence and family madness, perhaps that is just another Tuesday.

Norman

Norman’s situation may be even worse.

After years of clashing with Horace and the rest of the family, his anger finally catches up with him. He breaks into Mallory’s home looking for revenge, only for Mallory to shoot him.

Instead of dying quietly, Norman manages to turn the situation into one final act of revenge. When Horace arrives, Norman shoots his brother before being left behind, badly wounded and apparently dying.

Netflix notes that Norman is left on Mallory’s floor, laughing through the pain and devastation surrounding him.

That strange final moment makes his fate particularly difficult to predict. Is Norman dead? Is he barely alive? Could someone find him before it is too late?

The show does not answer those questions, which is exactly the sort of cruel cliffhanger Beauty in Black enjoys serving.

Roy

Roy is not part of the Make It Rain shootout, but his Season 3 storyline leaves his future just as uncertain.

At the beginning of the season, Roy is behind bars following the FBI crackdown. He is also battling heroin addiction and struggling with withdrawal. In prison, he accepts an unknown substance from another inmate in an attempt to ease his symptoms.

It goes horribly wrong.

Roy overdoses and is rushed to hospital. Netflix confirms that his fate remains uncertain, meaning viewers do not get a clear answer about whether he survives.

His situation is particularly bleak because Roy is already dealing with the consequences of his choices, his imprisonment and his addiction. While everyone else is busy fighting over the Bellarie empire, Roy is fighting a much more personal battle.

And somehow, even the hospital is not exactly a safe zone in this family saga.

The real question is who will survive

The Season 3 finale leaves Beauty in Black with several characters hanging between life and death. Kimmie and Mallory may have been shot during Jules’ attack on Make It Rain, while Horace and Norman are left wounded after their explosive confrontation. Roy’s overdose adds another unresolved fate to the pile.

What makes the ending even more interesting is that Jules is still out there. He has escaped custody, discovered what happened to his son Glen and turned his grief into a mission of revenge. By using Gina’s criminal network to attack Make It Rain, he proves that he is no longer simply another player in the Bellarie mess. He has become one of its biggest threats.

In other words, nobody should be booking a funeral just yet. But nobody should be sleeping peacefully either.
