Mosiria urges Kenyans to stand firm on integrity despite criticism
By Ascah Mwango, January 31, 2026Nairobi County Government’s Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Care, Geoffrey Mosiria, has urged Kenyans to remain steadfast in integrity and moral principle, even when facing criticism or opposition.
Speaking to the public on Saturday, January 31, Mosiria reflected on the challenges of standing firm in one’s values in a society that often favours convenience over principle. He compared life to a path that requires patience and resilience.
While many people prefer easy shortcuts or popular trends, those who choose discipline, honesty, and consistency often face resistance. He argued that true success and justice are built on strong foundations, and that enduring principles, like stone, outlast fleeting popularity or public applause.

“When the drum changes rhythm, only trained ears keep dancing. The rest call the music wrong. In life, the tree that grows straight greets the wind first, not because it is fragile, but because it refuses negotiations with the storm. Crooked branches survive by bending. Straight trunks survive by roots. Many love the footpaths through the bush. Dusty, narrow, convenient. Few endure the patience of the highway. The highway has rules. Footpaths have excuses,” Mosiria stated.
Mosiria further noted that clarity and truth are often feared by those who seek to manipulate situations for their own benefit, but they are essential for meaningful progress. Standing upright, speaking the truth, and following moral principles, he explained, can be lonely and challenging, but these choices ultimately strengthen both character and society.
“So when you choose order over chaos, law over noise, principle over applause, expect resistance from those who trade in confusion. To nocturnal eyes, dawn is an insult. Long ago, stones were lifted by trembling hands, yet they fell-for even the accusers discovered fingerprints on their own hearts,” he added.
Mosiria’s sentiments come amid criticism he is facing for publicly supporting Marion Naipei, a young woman whose private video circulated online without her consent.

The incident attracted widespread attention, with many condemning the breach of her privacy. Mosiria assisted Naipei in seeking justice and reporting the matter to the authorities, including arrests of suspects linked to the recording.
