Mosiria to Kenyans: Be careful with Kilimani massage services

Geoffrey Mosiria has told Kenyans who care to approach Kilimani massage areas with a lot of caution.
Through a lengthy post on X on Sunday, February 1, 2025, Mosiria stated that he has come to learn that many of the massage signages in Kilimani and other parts of Nairobi are illegal and operate under the guise of sexual services.

“I want to bring to the attention of Nairobians, and Kenyans at large, that most of the massage signages you see in Kilimani and other parts of the city, especially those with graphics that suggest sexuality and only display a phone number, are illegal and not licensed by the county government.

“These signages are usually put up at night,” he said.
Mosiria warned that most of these establishments are actually brothels running illegal prostitution businesses.
Many operate from Airbnbs within residential estates, making them difficult to identify unless one is vigilant.
He stressed that such businesses are not only illegal but also put unsuspecting clients at risk of being exploited. He urged people, particularly men, to exercise extreme caution.
“In the process of engaging in these illegal activities, they are secretly recorded using hidden cameras, and the footage is later used to extort money, with threats of the videos being exposed,” Mosiria explained.

The danger extends beyond financial loss, as it can also destroy reputations and family lives.
Mosiria sends a message to married women
The officer also appealed to married women to monitor their spouses closely, especially when they claim to be visiting friends in Airbnbs.
According to Mosiria, secrecy and deception in such encounters are how many marriages break down.
He noted that some families have already been affected by these illegal operations, with victims often too ashamed or fearful to report the incidents.

“No leader may have the courage to condemn these acts, but as the officer tasked with communication and citizen engagement, I believe this is the right time to expose this rot in society and protect our families and communities,” he added.
Mosiria’s warning comes as residents and local authorities continue to grapple with illegal activities hidden behind seemingly legitimate businesses.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant, report suspicious establishments to authorities, and ensure they and their loved ones are not drawn into these illegal and harmful schemes.
Awareness and caution, he stressed, are the first steps toward safeguarding families and communities.
