Mosiria reunites woman rescued from the streets with family
Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has celebrated the progress of a woman he rescued from the streets after she had lost hope in life.
Mosiria intervened in the plight of Mercy Njoki, who was homeless and had gotten into drugs, which had taken a toll on her health.
The chief officer paid a visit to Njoki and shared photos taken while celebrating her progress.

“Yesterday, I visited Martha Njoki, a lady I had earlier rescued from the streets, where she was suffering and had lost hope in life,” Mosiria stated on X on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Her current form is evidence of the progress made from the moment when she was rescued from the streets.
The head of customer service in Nairobi County added that he has been able to unite her with her children, whom she left at a children’s home seven years ago.
According to Mosiria, the children grew up believing that their mother had passed on, as she never visited them the whole time that she was struggling in the streets for seven years.
“Through rehabilitation, she has significantly healed, and I was able to reunite her with her children, whom she had left at a children’s home 7 years ago. Because she never went back to visit them, it is often assumed in such situations that the parent is either deceased or in prison,” he stated.
Meeting mum after 7 years
The reunion was an emotional moment that was also filled with surprises as the children met their mum for the first time in seven long years.
“The children had therefore grown up believing that their mother was no longer alive, making the reunion deeply emotional and surprising when I brought her to meet them,” he added.

Mosiria revealed that Njoki is currently undergoing recovery at a local rehabilitation centre and provided details through which anyone who wants to visit or support her, as well as others living on the streets, may channel their support.
