Mosiria: God told me to step aside from the Marion Naipei case
By William Muthama, January 31, 2026Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has revealed that his decision to step aside from the Marion Naipei case was guided by divine intervention.
Speaking during an interview on Saturday, January 31, 2026, Mosiria said he felt God was communicating to him through the people, urging him to stay away from the matter.
“God was telling me through the people that this matter you should keep away from it. I stepped aside; I fasted for two, three days and got the message,” Mosiria said.
He explained that even before the matter gained widespread attention, he already understood the need to step back.
Respecting legal process
Mosiria stressed that the case had already been handed over to the police, and stepping aside was necessary to let the legal process take its course.
He also mentioned Alicia Kanini, noting that while Kanini and Marion Naipei may be part of the same WhatsApp group.

Mosiria said his decision was not a sign of retreat or weakness, but a reflection of his respect for public confidence and institutional integrity.
“Even before it got where it is, I knew what needed to be done. This is beyond me; let it take its course, and God truly communicated to me,” he said.
He added that public opinion also played a role in guiding his decision. Many people advised him to step back, and Mosiria said he reflected carefully before acting.

Marion Naipei went viral after a video showing her intoxicated in a compromising situation circulated online.
Naipei stated that she has not seen the man who recorded her since the incident and has reported the matter to the police, insisting he had no authority to record or publish the footage.
