Mosiria appeals for Ksh2M for cancer treatment of Mbae’s brother
Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has called on Kenyans to come together and support the family of a young boy popularly known as “Mbae”, who went viral on social media for a humorous, confident clip in which he gave directions.
In a new appeal post shared on Sunday, April 19, 2026, Mosiria revealed that the boy’s 9-year-old brother is currently battling throat cancer and is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital.
He added that the child urgently requires Ksh2 million to undergo specialised medical treatment.
“UNAJUA KWA KINA MBAE? WANGAPI WANAJUA MBAE, MAHALI NYUMBA YAO HAINA GATE?” Mosiria asked while referring to the viral fame that made the young boy a household name online.
“This is MBAE, the child who has been trending on social media, and currently, his brother, a 9-year-old who has throat cancer, needs Ksh 2M for his treatment. He is currently in the ICU at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital.”

According to Mosiria, fundraising efforts have already made progress, with KSh600,000 raised within two days. However, the family is still far from reaching the required amount for the life-saving treatment.
In addition, he added that contributions are being sent via M-Pesa to 0711571736 as efforts continue to raise the remaining amount needed for the medical care.
“So far we have raised for two days Kshs 600k. Please Mpesa your contribution through: 0711571736,” he added.

Mosiria on Mbae’s brother
Earlier, Mosiria, who paid the family a visit at KU hospital, revealed that the young boy underwent a successful surgery and he is recuperating in the ICU.
He further stated that the family owes PCEA Chogoria Hospital KSh160,000, where the boy was being treated before he was referred to KU Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital, adding that they left their land title deed as collateral.
“We are here to support MBAE’s brother, who had throat cancer but has undergone surgery and is now recuperating in the intensive care unit. They require Ksh2M,” Mosiria stated.
“The Family is unable to pay Ksh 2 million. In Chogoria PCEA, they are supposed to pay Ksh 160k; they left the land title deed.”
