Moses Bliss recounts how Marie Wiseborn recovered from undiagnosed illness
By Valerian Khakayi, April 17, 2026Nigerian gospel singer Moses Bliss has opened up about a painful health scare his wife, Marie Wiseborn, went through while they were in the United Kingdom last year, saying it tested both their faith and family strength.
Speaking during a Christian event, Bliss recounted how Marie suddenly fell ill with severe pain affecting one side of her body and her back.
He says the condition made it difficult for her to lie down or even breathe properly, forcing them to seek urgent medical attention.
“We were in the UK last year, and all of a sudden, the devil came to test my faith; my wife became ill, one side of her body was paining her, and the back was paining her; she could not lie on her back or front, and she could not breathe properly,” Bliss recounted.
“We did not know what was going on. She became serious, and we started going to the hospital.”

According to Bliss, doctors carried out multiple tests but were unable to determine the exact cause of the illness.
“They were doing all sorts of tests, no kind of test was not done. Doctors would say they are not sure and they did not know what was going on, but she was being given medication, but nothing was happening,” he added.
He added that the situation worsened to the point where Marie required constant care, with her family members stepping in to help look after their young child as she remained hospitalised.
Bliss said the experience became emotionally draining, noting that he had never witnessed his wife in such intense pain before.
“It got to a point where my in-laws had to come and stay with us to help with our son,” Bliss stated.
“My wife was in pain; I have never stayed in a hospital like that.”

Wife’s recovery journey
At one point, he had to travel to Nigeria for a programme before returning to London, where he says he felt spiritually prompted to take action.
“I had to fly to Nigeria for a programme, and then I came back. On the flight back to London, the spirit of the Lord told me, ‘What are you waiting for? Are you not going to put an end to this harassment?’ and then I flew back,” he recalled.
Upon returning to the hospital, Bliss said doctors still had no clear diagnosis but had suggested she might need to stay under observation for about two weeks.
“The day I got to the hospital, I asked what was going on, and they said they did not know yet, but she had to be at the hospital for maybe two weeks so that they could know what the problem was,” he added.
It was during this period, he said, that he sat beside his wife and prayed with her, speaking and ministering to her as she joined in prayer.

“I sat beside my wife and began to preach to her. I put my hand on her stomach, and we began to pray, and while we were praying, I just felt like a presence, like Lord Jesus was there with us, and the healing has taken place. She said Amen,” he said.
In addition, Bliss said that shortly after, he left the hospital to travel back to London. About an hour into the journey, he received a call from his wife informing him that she had been discharged and was on her way home.
“I left and went back to London as I left, one hour into our trip, she called me to say that she was on her way home. They discharged her,” he testified.
The gospel artiste described the experience as a difficult but faith-strengthening moment for their family.
