Moji Shortbaba and Nyawira Gachugi welcome first child

Gospel singer Moji Shortbaba and his wife, podcast host Nyawira Gachugi, have announced the arrival of their first child, a baby girl.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the couple revealed that their daughter had safely arrived, describing her as a long-awaited blessing welcomed into a world filled with love.
“We are so happy to announce that our little blessing left her mummy’s tummy and joined a world where she is loved and has been eagerly waited on,” Nyawira wrote.
The new parents expressed heartfelt gratitude to their close community of friends and family for the overwhelming support they received throughout the journey, noting the countless calls, check-ins, and concern for their well-being.
“The innumerable calls, the check-ins and my favourite — ‘WHAT HAS THE DOCTOR SAID!’” she added.
Nyawira also gave special thanks to their doctor, Dr Chris Obwaka, praising his reassurance and patience during what initially felt like a journey filled with fear and uncertainty.
“What began like a journey of fear and uncertainty wound up in laughter and joy! You walked with us patiently and reassured us all the way till you carried our little girl. The entire @tibuhealth family- we are super grateful!!”
“Now @mojishortbabaa and I embark on a journey of stewarding a little blessing that God trusts us with. Our hands and hearts are full of gratitude and joy! Welcome Baby M❤️,” she added.
This comes a few months after the couple announced that they are expecting their first child after years of silent prayers and a long wait.
The couple went on to social media and shared the beautiful news with their fans on Instagram on Thursday, July 31, 2025, in a lovely video of them holding each other while singing a praise song.
The couple who got married in mid-2021, four years down the line, went ahead and revealed that they had silently prayed and trusted God to carry the blessing of a baby.
Similarly, the gospel minister, while further thanking God for the blessing, also acknowledged the honour of carrying their first child.
“The blessings of God are amazing. They serve as a reminder that he is concerned about what we pray for, even the prayers made in silence. We are so honoured to be trusted by God to carry this blessing,” stated the couple.
