‘Mnataka kumuiba!’ – Hamisa Mobetto’s mum fires back at claims she dumped her husband

Tanzanian socialite and entrepreneur Hamisa Mobetto’s mum, Shufaa Lutigunga, has strongly dismissed claims circulating online suggesting that she had separated from her husband.

Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Rick Media shortly after gracing the wedding of influencer Gigy Money on Saturday, March 14, 2026, the outspoken matriarch appeared visibly puzzled by the speculation surrounding her marriage.

She questioned why people were assuming she was no longer in a relationship, saying she had never at any point indicated that she was out of marriage.

“Why are you asking me as if I am not married? How many times am I supposed to get married? When exactly was I ever not in a marriage?” she posed.

Shufaa went on to suggest that some of the questions being directed at her seemed unnecessary, wondering whether people expected her to publicly announce every aspect of her personal life.

“Were you expecting that when I got married I would call each of you to inform you?” she asked.

The mother of the popular Tanzanian celebrity also appeared concerned that some people might be wishing ill on her relationship, saying that the constant questions about her marital status sounded as if some individuals were hoping her marriage would fail.

“With the way you are asking, It is almost like you are praying that my marriage ends,” she said.

Shufaa further clarified that she has always been married and that there has never been a time she considered herself single, dismissing the rumours as baseless speculation.

She also addressed criticism from some social media users who claimed she rarely posts her husband online, explaining that her decision not to frequently share his photos publicly was intentional.

According to her, constantly posting her husband online could expose him unnecessarily, something she prefers to avoid.

“And those who say I should post him, do you want me to post him so that he can be taken away from me?” she asked.

Shufaa did not hide her admiration for her husband during the address, describing him as a good man and making it clear that she values their relationship.

“And my husband is a very good man,” she added.

Hamisa’s message to Gigy Money

In the same event, Hamisa Mobetto used sweet words to wish influencer Gigy Money well following her marriage to budding Tanzanian singer Licky Tones.

Hamisa noted that, just as she faced advice and challenges when she got married, Gigy would encounter similar circumstances, and she should handle them with grace.

“Aslam aleikum. I don’t have many words. I’m used to calling you Giigy, and I can only ask that you be like me, your sister. When I got married, many people spoke to me about marriage, but Giigy, I tell you, don’t let it overwhelm you,” she said.

She expressed admiration for Gigy and encouraged her to approach marriage with confidence.

She also urged Gigy to remain strong, to navigate marriage wisely, and to cherish her union with her husband.

“I have a lot more to say, but if I continue, I might cry. I respect you deeply and wish you all the best. May God protect you, your husband, and your home,” she added.
