Gospel singer Mercy Masika has shared a deeply moving tribute mourning the death of Jacque Maribe’s father, describing him as a present and loving parent whose legacy lives on through his daughter.

In a statement on Friday, January 2, 2026, Mercy expressed solidarity with Jacque Maribe and her family, saying her heart and prayers were with them as they honored a man she described as a “quiet anchor, a steady compass, and a sheltering tree.”

“Today, my heart and prayers are with my dear sister, Jacque Maribe, her family, and all who loved her father. We gather to honor a life that was a quiet anchor, a steady compass, and a sheltering tree.”

Masika praised the late father for laying the foundation that shaped Jacque into the woman she is today, noting that her strength, grace and resilience were nurtured through his guidance, love and sacrifices.

“Thank you for being the foundation upon which a remarkable woman was built. The strength, grace, and resilience we all admire in Jacque did not appear by chance. They were nurtured, protected, and guided by a father’s hand,” she wrote.

Reflecting on the importance of present fatherhood, Mercy said his passing highlighted the irreplaceable role a father plays in a daughter’s life, shaping her sense of worth, courage and security.

She also drew from her own personal experience, sharing that she was raised by a present father whose faith and consistency shaped her life.

Masika added that she now witnesses the same sacred duty in her own home, watching her husband show up as a devoted father to their daughter.

Further, Mercy honoured not only Jacque Maribe’s father but all fathers who choose to be present, saying their greatest impact lies in consistent love and showing up through every season.

“In honoring him today, we honor every father who chooses to be present. We honor the men who understand that their greatest impact is not in what they say, but in their faithful, season-after-season showing up. Your life whispers a promise to every daughter seeking that anchor: such fathers exist. They are real. They are a gift from God,” she stated.
