Stand-up comedian and media personality Vincent Mwasia Mutua, widely known as Chipukeezy, took to social media to celebrate President William Ruto’s birthday, sending him heartfelt wishes and a touch of humour.

In a light-hearted post shared on his official Instagram account on Sunday, December 21, 2025, Chipukeezy said that he wishes Ruto’s dream of transforming Kenya into Singapore would come true.

“Happy birthday, Bossy. May your dream of transforming Kenya into Singapore come true,” he wrote.

Ruto is turning 59 years old today, marking another year of life and leadership in the country.

The birthday wish comes as Ruto continues to push his administration’s ‘Bottom-Up Economic Model’, aimed at improving the livelihoods of ordinary Kenyans, boosting industrialisation, creating more job opportunities and turning the country into a first-world nation.

Wedding anniversary

Ruto’s birthday coincides with their 33rd wedding anniversary. They got married on December 21, 1991.

Singapore dream

Speaking during a press briefing on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Ruto drew a direct comparison between Kenya and Singapore, noting that the Southeast Asian nation was at a similar development level to Kenya six decades ago but has since leapfrogged into global economic prominence.

“This housing, we must do it,” Ruto emphasised, underlining the urgency of his government’s affordable housing agenda. Imagine Singapore was like Kenya 60 years ago. Today in Singapore, 95 per cent of the people are homeowners. In Kenya, it is the opposite,” Ruto said.

“Seven million people are living in slums, but we are going to change this country. Believe you me, we have what it takes as a nation. There is no reason why we cannot catch up with Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea. There is no reason. And I am going to go out of my way to make sure we catch up with Singapore.”

For Ruto, catching up with Singapore and other Asian success stories is not just aspirational but achievable.
