Maureen Waititu issues 7-day apology ultimatum to cyberbully targeting her kids

Maureen Waititu has publicly confronted the woman she accuses of waging a months-long cyberbullying campaign against her and her children. She has issued a firm seven-day ultimatum for a public apology.

The digital content creator revealed she used professional forensic help to unmask the individual. The bully operates online as “Nancy.”

Waititu stated she had uncovered the woman’s full identity. This includes her physical location in Embu, phone number, and social media accounts.

She further revealed that she’s had her information before the Christmas holiday in 2025.

Maureen explains she wrestled with the decision to retaliate. However, she settled on choosing a path of accountability.

“You are hereby given seven (7) days to take responsibility and issue a direct, sincere apology,” Waititu declared.

Maureen described the alleged bully as a broken individual. She further stresses that targeting children is completely unacceptable. The mother of two warned that failure to comply would leave her no choice but to pursue formal legal channels.

The mother of two extended a stern warning to all online harassers.

“This statement should also serve as a clear notice to all cyber bullies,” Maureen wrote, dedicating her stand to her children and all innocent victims.

This is not Waititu’s first public confrontation with online abuse.

In 2025, she made a public response to cruel remarks from an anonymous bully by vowing to protect her peace and mental well-being. That incident foreshadowed the escalating harassment that has now culminated in this formal ultimatum and forensic investigation.

The clock is now ticking on the seven-day deadline, with the public awaiting Nancy’s response. This case marks a definitive moment in the fight against digital harassment targeted towards public figures. She further added that bullying has severe consequences and should never be dismissed as mere online entertainment.

Maureen Waititu’s public ultimatum to the alleged cyberbully arrives at a pivotal moment in Kenya’s cyber harassment laws. Her case directly intersects with Kenya’s newly stringent cyber laws under the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes (Amendment) Act, 2024 signed by President William Ruto. The Cyberbully actions now carry severe penalties, including fines of up to Ksh 20 million and imprisonment for up to 10 years.
