The family of late TikTok creator Maribel Imac Irungu has now announced that all official communication regarding her burial arrangements and related updates will be handled through her younger sister, Hafsa Wangui.

Speaking in an emotional video on Friday, May 15, 2026, days after Maribel’s tragic demise, Hafsa introduced herself to followers who may not know her and admitted that the family is still struggling to come to terms with the painful loss.

“My name is Hafsa, for those who don’t know me. I am Maribel’s little sister, and by now, all of you have heard that Maribel passed away on Wednesday. We are still in disbelief,” Hafsa said.

She expressed gratitude on behalf of the family for the overwhelming support, prayers, messages and phone calls they have continued receiving from Kenyans and members of the online community following Maribel’s death.

“On behalf of the family, we are grateful for all the love and support that you guys have shown us, all the calls, all the texts and such. We are really grateful to you guys. It really means a lot to us,” she said.

According to Hafsa, the family has now concluded that her social media page will serve as the official platform where all burial arrangements, support updates and family communication will be shared moving forward until the late TikToker is laid to rest.

“We have also decided that my page will be the official page for communication where we as the family will be sharing the burial arrangements, support and any information regarding Maribel from now on until the day she is laid to rest,” she added.

She further appealed to the public to continue remembering Maribel kindly and to keep the family in their prayers as they navigate the painful mourning period.

Hafsa also disclosed that Maribel’s burial is expected to take place in Nyeri County, although the exact burial date had not yet been confirmed by the family at the time of her statement.

“Please continue to put her in your prayers and remember her with kindness. The burial will be in Nyeri, but I will update you when the date is confirmed,” Hafsa Wangui said.

The emotional update comes days after news of Maribel’s death shocked TikTok users and fellow content creators across the country, sparking widespread mourning online.
