She said, “Mnaboo na hizi DM zenu ati hope he is not Russian, ni wenu ama wangu,” as she addressed those sending her messages.

Malu also said, “Na for you info me nakaa kuambiwa, ‘Come with me,’ then I follow?” as she questioned why people act like they control her choices. She ended her message with, “eeh weeh omggot,” showing how tired she is of the questions about her relationship.

Concerns raised by viral videos

The questions come after a Russian man drew attention online across Africa. The foreign national, identified as Yaytseslav, also known as Vyacheslav Trahov, shared videos of encounters with local women.

The videos were recorded in public places like Accra Mall in Ghana and shopping malls in Nairobi, Kenya.

Reports said he used smart glasses to secretly record first meetings and private moments in hotel rooms or Airbnbs. Short clips of the videos were shared on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. The content spread fast and raised concern in many countries.

The videos sparked debate about privacy, consent, and the ethics of filming intimate moments without consent. These online stories led people to link Malu’s boyfriend to the same issue, claiming that her boyfriend might be Russian. She pushed back against that link and made it clear she is not responsible for claims made online.

She said the DMs asking about her boyfriend’s nationality are not her concern. Her response showed that she does not want to be tied to online scandals she is not part of. Her message ended with clear frustration, as she told people to stop asking questions and mind their own business.
