Karen Nyamu shares how she handles co-parenting with 2 baby daddies

Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has opened up about her co-parenting arrangement with her two baby daddies, explaining how she raises her three children while maintaining a working relationship with their fathers.
Speaking during an interview on Friday, August 7, 2026, Nyamu said she has two baby daddies and three children, with two of her children being from her relationship with Mugithi musician Samidoh.
She explained that co-parenting has worked because each parent plays their role while respecting the space needed to raise their children.
Communication line
Nyamu said she communicates directly with her first baby daddy, but matters involving her second baby daddy, Samidoh, are handled through her personal assistant and driver.
She explained that the two act as the communication link between them when dealing with issues concerning their children.

“Hii ingine bado sijaanza kuifanya direct. Driver wangu, PA wangu ndio wanashughulikia. Ndio communication line iko hapo,” Nyamu said.
Nyamu added that her arrangement with her first baby daddy has been smooth, describing him as a supportive and responsible parent.
“He is a very good guy. Unproblematic,” she said.
She praised him for being involved in their children’s lives, saying he supports them in different areas, including education, medical needs and other responsibilities.
Shared parenting
The senator said she does not believe women should depend entirely on men for financial support, arguing that both parents should work hard and contribute where they can.

“Men are also looking for money. They are not an ATM or just a source of money,” Nyamu said.
She explained that she also takes responsibility for her children’s needs and does not place unnecessary demands on their fathers.
Nyamu said she understands that every parent has different financial abilities, adding that co-parenting works best when people contribute according to what they can manage.
