Lydia Wanjiru shares how losing weight transformed her mental health
By William Muthama, February 23, 2026Lydia Wanjiru has opened up about the profound impact losing weight has had on her mental health, describing the experience as life-changing and deeply spiritual.
In an Instagram post on Monday, February 24, 2026, the content creator reflected on how her journey through weight loss and cosmetic surgery reshaped her mindset.
“I am God’s favourite daughter. You can’t tell me otherwise. I’m God’s favourite child,” Lydia said, describing the newfound confidence she feels after completing her liposuction, tummy tuck, and Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedures.
She shared that even before posting her transformation videos, she spent time absorbing the changes. “I watched those videos for like 10 minutes, and I was like, yo, who is this? Who is this before, who is this after? Mentally, how I feel right now is so different from how I used to feel,” she explained.
Lydia credited the weight loss as a turning point, one that lifted a long-standing mental burden. “I used to think losing weight was so magical. It brought relief. And then surgery was the cherry on top. So many things happened in 2025, but God really guided me and said, ‘I’ll make it. I’ll switch up things before the year ends, and I’ll give you something so good,” she said.

Her reflection highlighted the emotional journey behind the physical transformation. “It’s amazing how much mental strength and clarity come from taking control of your health and body,” she added.
Lydia also expressed gratitude for the personal growth she has experienced. “Thank you, God, for healing me. Thank you for my life because you’re beautiful,” she noted, emphasising the spiritual and psychological impact of her journey.
In an earlier post, Lydia expressed her excitement to return to the gym following her cosmetic procedures.“I went to the bathroom, and then I’ll look at myself in the mirror… Ah! I look so good! And for the first time, I’m really excited and looking forward to the day my doctor will tell me, ‘Lydia, now you’re good to go to the gym,’ because I’m going to be flexing in that gym,” she shared.
