Content creator Lydia Wanjiru has shared an update on her post-surgery journey, expressing her excitement to return to the gym following her recent cosmetic procedures.

In a lively Instagram post on Thursday, February 19, 2026, Lydia described the joy she feels looking at herself in the mirror after completing her liposuction, tummy tuck, and Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgeries.

I went to the bathroom, and then I’ll look at myself in the mirror… Ah! I look so good! And for the first time, I’m really excited and looking forward to the day my doctor will tell me, ‘Lydia, now you’re good to go to the gym,’ because I’m going to be flexing in that gym, she shared.

She continued, describing the sense of pride she anticipates when others notice her transformation. “And there’ll be someone just looking at me, thinking, ‘Guy, I wonder how long he’s been in the gym. He’s achieved that body, and I don’t know what, what, what.’ Ah! And I’m dancing the whole time,” she said.

Reality of cosmetic surgery

Lydia also spoke candidly about the realities of cosmetic surgery and fitness culture. She pointed out that some gym trainers and even male trainers rely on cosmetic enhancements, like six-pack liposuctions, to achieve their look, rather than just consistent workouts.

“So you’re going to the gym to achieve weight loss, toning, and so on… but there’s a difference: you’re just there to maintain your body, to achieve cardiovascular health… It’s hard to torture you. Guys, it’s a business,” she explained.

Despite the challenges, Lydia emphasised that her post-surgery fitness journey is motivated by her own goals, not comparison. I’m excited! Oh my God, for the first time, I’m really, really looking forward to going to the gym, and I’m excited,” she said, sharing her genuine anticipation.

Lydia also assured her followers that she will continue being transparent about her cosmetic journey. “For anyone who will care to ask me, I’ll tell them the truth… Let me tell you the truth. There’s a difference here,” she said, highlighting the importance of honesty and awareness in the fitness and cosmetic space.
