King Kalala: Stop calling men misogynists, choose your match
By William Muthama, February 26, 2026King Kalala has urged women to stop calling men misogynists when they express personal preferences in dating.
Speaking in an Instagram video on Thursday, February 26, 2026, she addressed the behaviour of some successful women who become defensive when men voice their expectations in relationships.
She said women should focus on finding partners who genuinely match them rather than trying to force compatibility.
“If a man says he wants a partner who complements him differently, you don’t start calling him a misogynist,” Kalala said. “Go look for someone who actually matches your energy and expectations.”
Focus on compatibility
Kalala emphasised that dating is about mutual preference. Women should accept when a man’s priorities or tastes do not align with theirs and move on instead of arguing or creating conflict. “Before you argue or label someone, understand it’s not personal,” she said. “It’s about compatibility. Stop forcing something that isn’t there.”
She noted that modern dating can be complicated by social media narratives, which sometimes pressure women to expect complete equality in every aspect of a relationship while also demanding that partners meet all their standards.

King Kalala also highlighted the importance of communicating expectations and boundaries early on. “Be clear about what you want from the start,” she said. “If both people know where they stand, it prevents wasted time and misunderstandings.”
She added that recognising preferences upfront allows both partners to decide if they are compatible without unnecessary conflict.
Kalala added that success or accomplishment does not guarantee romantic compatibility. She said that relationships rely on mutual alignment and respect for individual choices, not pride or entitlement.
“Equally, if anything, we have to shout at the guy on the first date and tell him, Mama, I don’t want you to sit next to me, you have issues, and I don’t want that because then you will know who to avoid. We’ve cut to the chase. So, please, just remember, oh, you live in the past, look for your preference,” she noted.
