By William Muthama, April 16, 2026Rapper King Kaka and media personality Nana Owiti have shared emotional messages celebrating their daughter as she marked her 12th birthday, offering rare personal reflections on parenting and growth.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, April 16, 2026, Nana Owiti penned an emotional note reflecting on her journey into motherhood, describing how she became a young mother “unprepared” but learned to navigate the experience through resilience and growth.
She expressed gratitude for the bond she has built with her daughter over the years, noting that they have grown up together through both challenges and milestones.

In her message, Nana highlighted her daughter’s personality and development, praising her intelligence, kindness, emotional awareness, and instinct to care for her younger brother.
She described her as a source of pride and inspiration, while also reflecting on the responsibility of guiding her through life, while allowing her to develop her own identity and independence.
“Twelve years ago, I stepped into motherhood young, unprepared and honestly… baptised by fire. We found ourselves in deep, murky waters, but somehow we learned to swim. Together. We didn’t just grow up side by side… we grew into each other. You taught me just as much as I’ve taught you, maybe even more. Through every high and low, every lesson and every little victory we survived…and now here we are.”She wrote.

She further acknowledged that her parenting approach is shaped by love and intention, even when trying to provide experiences she may not have had herself growing up.
Nana concluded her message with a heartfelt birthday wish, expressing unwavering support and love, and crediting faith for guiding their journey as a family.
King Kaka also shared his own tribute, keeping his message simple but emotionally charged. The rapper described his daughter as love, strength, and a source of daily inspiration. He expressed pride in her growth and personality, celebrating her character and presence in his life.
