Kenyan Jason Derulo promises to sponsor Mbavu Destroyer’s gym for a month
By David Nthua, February 24, 2026Remcy Don, who calls himself Kenyan Jason Derulo, has been touched by a story of Mbavu Destroyer training alone at his home using stones, just weeks before the much-anticipated boxing match with Majembe.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, Remcy said he is willing to sponsor Mbavu Destroyer to help sharpen his skills ahead of the big day.
“Natafuta Mbavu Destroyer haraka sana. Niliona story yake ikanigusa sana,” he wrote.

Humble training
Remcy said he was moved after seeing how the young boxer had been preparing without proper equipment.
“Kupitia rende ya kuweka mawe, nataka kumsponsor gym na training yake mpaka awe bondia mkubwa,” he added.
He even asked his followers to tag Mbavu Destroyer or inform him that “Don anamtafuta.”
Mbavu Destroyer has recently been making headlines for his raw talent and street-style boxing.
Nairobi County official Geoffrey Mosiria had earlier revealed that the boxer was training alone without guidance.
“Mbavu Destroyer alikuwa peke yake; hakuna mtu alikuwa ametoka nje kumsaidia,” Mosiria said in a past interview, adding that he stepped in to ensure the young fighter gets proper training and skills.

Mosiria later enrolled him in a private boxing academy and secured a trainer to prepare him for the upcoming match dubbed Vurugu, set for April 4, 2026, at Kasarani indoor arena.
Support continues to grow
Mbavu Destroyer has also shared that despite his online fame, he still lives with his mother as he searches for a stable income.
“At home, things are okay, but as you know, there are always challenges,” he said in a recent interview, noting that he remains hopeful and grounded.

With support now coming from leaders, entertainers, and fans, many believe the young boxer’s journey is just beginning.
Remcy’s offer to sponsor his gym for the entire month has excited many online, with fans praising the spirit of lifting one another.
As the countdown to the match continues, all eyes will be on Mbavu Destroyer to see how far this new wave of support can take him in the ring.
