Kambua shares emotional testimony after 7-year fertility journey
By Valerian Khakayi, May 21, 2026Celebrated gospel singer and media personality Kambua has yet again touched many hearts after opening up about her painful seven-year fertility journey while encouraging women and families still waiting to conceive.
Sharing an emotional testimony, Kambua, on Thursday, May 21, 2026, reflected on the struggles she and her family endured before finally welcoming their child after years of waiting, prayers, and emotional pain
The celebrated singer revealed that the journey was filled with heartbreaking moments, including countless negative pregnancy tests, painful medical procedures, hormonal treatments, and repeated disappointment.
“7 years ago, we shared our joy with the world. After SEVEN LONG YEARS of waiting,” Kambua shared.
“I’m resharing this for anyone feeling stuck in the wait. The endless pregnancy tests that keep turning up negative. The painful injections and intrusive tests. The hormonal medication that wrecks havoc in your body. The “false” hope that comes and is quickly dashed by ANOTHER period.”

Kambua used her experience to encourage women and couples currently struggling with infertility, reminding them not to lose hope despite the emotional toll that comes with waiting for a child.
The singer further prayed for peace, strength, and encouragement for those still trusting God for children.
“Beloved, it’s a season. It will pass. May your home be filled with the laughter of children. Whichever way God chooses to bring them. May he bring joy and peace to your heart. As you wait on him, be reminded today that He will do it,” she added.
Over the years, Kambua has remained one of Kenya’s most admired gospel artistes, not only for her music but also for her openness about faith, motherhood, and personal challenges.

Kambua on loss and hope
The award-winning musician has been vocal about her motherhood journey.
In February 2026, Kambua, in a heartfelt post shared on her Instagram account, reflected on the pain of waiting and heartbreak, recalling a time in her life when she felt lost, confused, and overwhelmed.
“Some years back, I found myself lost…confused…overwhelmed. Lost in the pain of waiting, broken by the pain of loss,” Kambua opened up.
“You see, no one ever plans to be a waiting womb; many of us anticipate the waiting room, but we never have an inkling of how long we will be there.”
Kambua’s motherhood journey not only serves as a testimony but also as encouragement to many.
The gospel singer and her pastor husband, Jackson Mathu, welcomed their first child on August 10, 2019, after seven years of childlessness in their marriage.
