Jeridah Andayi explains why some battles are fought in silence

By , March 21, 2026

Veteran radio presenter Jeridah Andayi has shared a message explaining why some people choose to keep their struggles private, saying silence is often shaped by age and experience.

In a post on Saturday, March 21, 2026, she explained that not every situation needs to be shared, especially as people grow older and learn how others respond to their pain. She said that over time, many choose to deal with issues quietly rather than open up.

She said, “Some of us are fighting battles in silence. Because age has taught us that sometimes sharing our pain only serves as a good story to others.”

She said that people should not assume everything is fine just because someone is not speaking about their struggles. She explained that silence does not mean absence of pain, but rather a personal way of handling it.

She added, “Remember, just because she’s not talking about it doesn’t mean she’s not going through it.”

Her message pointed to the need for understanding, noting that people process challenges differently. She said that not everyone finds comfort in sharing, and some prefer to keep their experiences to themselves.

Why silence is sometimes chosen

Jeridah Andayi, who has been vocal about the struggles of raising her teenage daughters, explained that with age, people become more careful about what they share and with whom. She said that past experiences can teach someone that opening up does not always bring the support they expect.

She added that silence should not be misunderstood, as it can be a form of strength and protection. She said that some people choose peace over explaining themselves again and again.

“Respect the silence,” she said.

The veteran radio presenter said that many personal struggles are not easy to put into words, and some are better carried quietly. She explained that certain experiences are deeply personal and cannot be fully understood by others.

She added, “Some stories are lived… not explained.”

Jeridah Andayi continued to stress that people should avoid judging others based on what they see on the surface. She said that there is often more happening behind the scenes than what is shown.
