IVC Eldoret reflects on founder Apostle Joseph Likavo’s enduring legacy after his death
By Steve Ireri, December 20, 2025The International Vision Centre (IVC) has issued a fresh reflection on the life and legacy of its founder, Apostle Joseph Likavo, days after his death while undergoing treatment in the United States.
In an update shared on Saturday, December 20, 2025, the Eldoret-based church said the late preacher left behind a lasting spiritual legacy centred on prayer, stewardship and faithfulness, values it noted would continue to guide generations within and beyond the ministry.
“One of the greatest gifts you have left us with is the legacy of prayer, stewardship, and the call to remain a faithful remnant in the Kingdom of God. These values will remain in our hearts and will continue to guide generations
,” the church wrote on Facebook.

“Further to our brief communication yesterday, the family, IVC church & Ministries wishes to inform the congregation, the body of Christ and the general public that our Spiritual Father, Senior Pastor and presiding Bishop Apostle Joseph Likavo, passed on yesterday, 18/12/2025, while undergoing treatment in the USA,” the church statement read in part.
According to the church leadership, the loss has been deeply felt by Likavo’s family, the IVC fraternity, associated ministries and the wider body of Christ, given the central role he played as a spiritual father and apostolic leader.
IVC described its founder as a servant of God who ministered with distinction, driven by a clear vision, an apostolic mandate and a shepherd’s heart.
It noted that his life was devoted to prayer, teaching and service, with an impact that extended across generations and nations.
“This is a heavy moment for His family, the IVC fraternity and associated ministries, the body of Christ, and all whose lives were touched by his ministry, leadership, and fatherly grace. Apostle Joseph Likavo faithfully served God with distinction, carrying a clear vision, an apostolic mandate, and a shepherd’s heart,” the statement added.

The leadership further urged members of the congregation to remain united in prayer and uphold Christian virtues as they navigate the difficult season following the preacher’s death.
Special prayers were extended to his immediate family, including his widow Mama Janet, sons Collins, Kevin and Dan, their families, and daughter Joy.
“As a Pastoral Team and church leadership, we ask the entire IVC family to remain united in prayer and all other virtues of Christian faith. Let us uphold the family, the leadership, and the congregation, trusting God for strength, comfort, and wisdom in the days ahead. Our thoughts and prayers specifically go out to Mama Janet, Collins, Kevin, Dan & their families and daughter Joy,” the statement added.
