Inspired by IShowSpeed? Vindee follows his footsteps with IRL streaming
By Valerian Khakayi, January 21, 2026Kenyan prankster Vindee has elevated his digital content creation after launching his IRL (In Real Life) live stream, a move that many fans have linked to American YouTube star Darren Jason Watkins Jr., widely known as IShowSpeed, who toured Kenya.
On his YouTube channel, Vindee began a live stream from Nairobi CBD on Tuesday night, January 20, 2026, offering viewers a real-time glimpse of the city’s vibrant nightlife.
As he moved through the streets, he showcased the nightlife, capturing the raw energy of Nairobi after dark.
The live format, which showed busy streets, flashing lights, and spontaneous moments, quickly drew attention online, with some viewers thinking he was again pranking them, however, Vindee made it clear that it was not a prank.

“Siwa prank,” Vindee assured his viewers during the live stream.
Although Vindee did not directly mention IShowSpeed, the concept of walking through the city while streaming live closely mirrors the approach that has helped the American YouTuber build a massive global following.
Vindee’s move signals a shift towards more immersive and interactive content in Kenya’s digital space, as IRL streaming continues to gain popularity worldwide.
IShowSpeed’s prank
In a video shared on his official TikTok account, Vindee explained that the entire saga was a carefully planned prank on the public, adding that the move was intended to highlight prank content as a serious and legitimate career path within the content creation industry in the country.

“I had a dream to show the nation that in this country, there are also pranksters, just like there are comedians and actors,” he said.
The prankster added that the stunt was also meant to counter claims that he scripts his pranks, adding that he wanted to demonstrate his authenticity by showcasing the difference between a scripted and a non-scripted prank
“I wanted to show you that I do not script my pranks, and so I decided to prank the entire country. I have never scripted anything before or even pulled a publicity stunt. My past content was authentic,” he added.
”Nimewashandaa guys. At no point did Speed choose me for anything. Where would he even find me? He asked.
