‘I rarely sleep’: 2Mbili opens up about lifelong condition
Content creator 2Mbili has opened up about a personal condition he says has shaped his lifestyle, education, and early career in unexpected ways.
Speaking during an interview with Milele FM radio host Jacquey Nyaminde, widely known as Wilbroda, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, he explained how his unusual sleep pattern allowed him to juggle demanding night gigs while still attending university classes during the day.
He described a routine that many would find difficult to maintain, saying he would often leave the club in the early morning hours after performances, briefly rest, and still make it to class by 8 a.m. without missing lectures.
Early routine balance
According to him, this lifestyle was not just a phase but something he had experienced for years, stretching back to his school days.
“I was born with a condition, I rarely sleep,” he said during the interview, adding that it started in primary school and continued through high school.

He recalled how he used to study late into the night while other students slept, maintaining the same rhythm even during school routines like morning preps.
Rare sleep pattern
2Mbili explained that his sleep pattern has never been consistent, saying he often goes long hours without proper rest but still manages to function.
“I have never slept like normal people… sleep just gets me when it wants,” he said.

While he does sleep at times, especially when fatigue catches up with him, he noted that rest often comes irregularly and unpredictably.
The entertainer also reflected on how the condition has affected his life on the road.
In one incident, he revealed that exhaustion once caught up with him while driving, leading to a car crash after briefly falling asleep behind the wheel.
