Harmonize reveals what it takes for Kenyan artistes to join his label
By Valerian Khakayi, April 5, 2026Tanzanian music superstar Rajabu Abdulkahali Ibrahim, widely known as Harmonize, has shared insights into the revival of his record label.
Harmonize, who is currently in Kenya for the sixth edition of the Old School Bongo with a Kenyan touch event, also outlined the criteria for Kenyan artistes who may want to join.
Speaking to digital content creators on Saturday night, April 4, 2026, Harmonize emphasised professionalism and structure as key to the label’s success.
According to him, his label will have a new managerial structure, adding that he will not be part of the managerial team, nor will he be the Chief Executive Officer.
He says he will focus solely on his music career rather than day-to-day management.
“My label is going to be back in a very professional way, kutakuwa na CEO wa label, president wa label, mimi sitakuwa msanii ama CEO wa the label,” Harmornize said.
“I know I am a musician and I have a long way to go, unajua hivyo vitu vinatakiwa watu wavifanye professionally; that is why kuna managers.”

Signees of the label
The artiste also hinted at cross-border opportunities, stating that his label will not only include Tanzanian artistes but also open doors for talent across East Africa.
“As soon as possible, tuta announce wasanii na haitakuwa tu wasanii wa Tanzania peke, we will try our best to make sure wasanii wa label yetu kwa sababu iko East Africa we include other East African artistes,” he added.
The Sensema hitmaker further said that if they found a Kenyan artiste who was talented and outstanding, there would be no reason not to sign them.
“Kama tutapata Kenyan artiste ambaye ni mkali, na anatalent mzuri, why not?” Harmonize explained.

With this approach, Harmonize aims to make his label a professional, regionally inclusive platform for talented musicians, blending management structure with creative freedom.
Team Harmonize is eager to see which artistes will join the revamped label and whether it will indeed carry the Konde Music Worldwide brand into this new professional era.
However, during the interview, he did not mention whether the label would come back rebranded with a different name or maintain its current name
Konde Music Worldwide
When Harmonize walked away from WCB, he made one of the boldest moves in Tanzanian music history, which was to launch Konde Music Worldwide. That was in September 2019.
His exit was dramatic and public, but it also became the blueprint for artistes seeking independence.
Konde Music was born out of the desire for creative freedom, ownership and financial control, and Harmonize positioned it as a home for musicians who didn’t want to be swallowed by the massive structure of a giant label.
