Happy wife: Gathoni Wamuchomba turns 51, says family comes first

Wamuchomba shared a message on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, thanking those who celebrated her birthday and sent her gifts, while highlighting the importance of family in her life.
“I am proudly 51 years old. A happy wife, cucu antie and a leader. My family comes first,” Wamuchomba said.
The lawmaker also expressed her appreciation to those who took the time to celebrate the milestone with her.
“Thanks for the gifts; I appreciate you all,” she said.

Wamuchomba’s message offered a glimpse into her personal life beyond her role as a political leader, highlighting the different roles she embraces as a wife, grandmother, aunt and leader.
She also acknowledged the people who remembered her on her birthday and expressed appreciation for the gifts she received.
Rather than focusing on her political career, the MP used the milestone to celebrate another year of life and appreciate those who shared the occasion with her.
For Wamuchomba, turning 51 was an opportunity to celebrate her personal journey while highlighting the importance of family in her life.

Who is Gathoni Wamuchomba?
Gathoni Wamuchomba is a vibrant, intelligent legislator in her second term as a member of parliament.
A scholar in PhD studies at the University of Nairobi’s School of Social Studies, she holds an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Transformational Leadership from Patriah University Canada.
She also holds a master’s in communication journalism and a bachelor’s in education arts (commerce and geography) from UON.
Additionally, Wamuchomba has also broken the record for being the MP who gathered the highest EVER recorded number of votes in 2017 (922,829). Being the 3rd most elected person in Kenya after the presidential candidates. This clearly showed the value and impact of the community work she had done for over 15 years while on radio as a presenter.
