Gloria Moraa celebrates late daughter’s birthday in an emotional tribute

Taking to her social media account on Tuesday, January 6, 2025, the grieving mother poured out her pain and longing in a heartfelt message, describing the profound void left by her daughter’s passing.
Moraa shared that life has never been the same since the day she lost her child, revealing that the pain remains as heavy as ever.
“Happy 21st birthday in heaven my child. It pains me every day, and I shed tears every single day. My life took a 360 when you breathed your last. I lost my shine, my light completely. I am typing this with a very heavy heart,” she wrote, expressing how she sheds tears daily and feels as though she lost her shine and light the moment her daughter took her last breath.
In the emotional post, the actress also openly questioned whether she would ever smile genuinely again, experience true happiness, or enjoy a full night of peaceful sleep.
“Oh death,you did that thing to me. Will I ever put on a genuine smile, will I ever know what happiness i again?Will I ever have a whole night of sound sleep?” Moraa questioned.
Alongside the touching message, Gloria also shared several photos of herself and her late daughter, capturing happier moments they once shared together.
The images served as a reminder of the strong bond between mother and child and the love that continues beyond loss.
Gloria on Marie’s death
“I met Marie on January 5, 2005, at 3.00 pm. She was the most beautiful child I have ever seen. I gave birth to her when I was still in my teens. I remember she used to cry, and I would also cry. The father would ask, ‘Sasa mkilie nyinyi wote wawili nitabombeleza nani?’” Gloria stated.
Struggling with the loss, Moraa shared her pain and the deep bond she had with her daughter.
“I don’t know how to release my child. My heart is broken. We had very, very beautiful memories. I don’t know how I am going to release my child.”
She recalled a difficult period in her life when Marie offered comfort and support.
“There was a time in my life I had gone through so much, and she would find me in the bedroom and tell me, ‘Mum, haukuangi mtu mbaya. Watu tu wako na wewe ndio watu wabaya.’ Marie was a good child.”
“I have no energy to tell my child to rest in peace. I still can’t believe my child has rested.”
Marie’s death
She passed away in late July 2024 at the age of 19 and was pursuing her university studies at the time of her sudden death.
Achieng was laid to rest on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
