Ezekiel Mutua recalls meeting Obinna and blessing him after radio stint

Ezekiel Mutua has revisited a meeting he had with media personality Oga Obinna that ushered the media star to more success with a greater and more impactful presence.
In a statement on Facebook on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, Mutua revealed that Obinna shared his vision shortly after leaving the radio.
The former Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) boss stated that he prayed for Obinna and spoke blessings on him before having lunch with the media star.
“When Oga Obinna decided to start Oga Obinna TV, he came to see me and shared his vision. He had just left the radio, and his determination to build something new and impactful was unmistakable,” Ezekiel Mutua stated.
Appearance on Obinna’s show
He recounted that he was among the first guests to appear on the show and shared his verdict at the time that Obinna would be Kenya’s Steve Harvey.
“We shared lunch at, I spoke a blessing over him, and I was among the first guests to appear on his show. I even posted here that he would become “Kenya’s Steve Harvey.” The rest, as they say, is history,” Mutua stated.
A few years down the line, the pair reunited at a wedding where the media personality was the master of ceremony and reminisced on the journey that has seen Obinna become a formidable force, adding that this time he blessed him publicly and ushered him to the global realm.
“We met again at Windsor on Saturday, where he was the MC at the wedding of my dear friends, Dr Princess and Apostle Peter Munai. We reminisced about those small beginnings and the exponential impact his show has had since then. I blessed him again, this time publicly,” he added.
Obinna to take his game global
Mutua hailed the media star as a super-talented individual, mentioning some of the areas in which Obinna has excelled.
“This man is super talented and truly multiskilled. Many people do not even know that he is an excellent musician and a registered member of MCSK, in addition to being a comedian, an outstanding MC, and a remarkable digital TV host. Go, go, my dear brother. You are stepping into the global realm, and your name will be great,” he stated.
