Nameless cancels Sunday edition of his anniversary concert over logistical challenges
By Ascah Mwango, July 31, 2026Pop pioneer Nameless has made the tough decision to cancel the Sunday edition of his highly anticipated 25th-anniversary concert series, putting artistic quality control over a grueling back-to-back weekend run.
Taking to his official Instagram account on Friday, July 31, 2026, the veteran hitmaker broke the news in a personal video message, issuing a heartfelt apology to fans who had already secured tickets for the Sunday, August 16 date at Nairobi’s iconic Carnivore Grounds.
The Sunday performance had originally been added as an extra date after tickets for the main Saturday, August 15 show completely sold out nearly two months in advance due to overwhelming public demand.
Explaining the last-minute change of plans, Nameless revealed that pulling off a massive, back-to-back production over two consecutive days proved far more complex than his team had initially anticipated.
Rather than running the risk of a diluted experience on day two, management made the strategic decision to consolidate all technical resources, energy, and production power strictly into the flagship Saturday concert.
“Guys guys ….. regarding the Sunday Show – after a lot of careful thought on logistics and unforeseen circumstances, my team and I have made the difficult decision to cancel the Sunday 16th show,” Nameless shared in his personal post.
“I know this will be disappointing for those who purchased the Sunday tickets or looking forward to it, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience!”
Despite the Sunday cancellation, the main “Nameless @ 25” celebration scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026, remains completely unaffected and is locked in to go ahead as scheduled.
The milestone event will celebrate the veteran singer’s incredible quarter-century legacy at the top of the East African urban music scene, featuring an all-star lineup of Kenyan legends including his wife Wahu, long-time collaborator Nyashinski, Genge godfather Jua Cali, and iconic hip-hop group Necessary Noize.
Closing out his message, Nameless expressed profound gratitude to his supporters while leaving the door open for future makeup dates down the road.
“The support from the fans, the sponsors, the artists has been humbling and overwhelming,” he added.
“We realize the importance to also focus on the one 15 Aug Sato show to give our best and maybe later organize another show after we regroup!”
