From Rhema Feast to Grace Encounter: Everything to know about this weekend’s gospel event
By Katemarthason Okudo, September 25, 2026After the massive turnout witnessed during Rhema Feast earlier this month, Nairobi is once again preparing to host another major gospel gathering, with Grace Encounter 2026 set to take over Uhuru Park this weekend.
The two-day Christian event is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, bringing together gospel music, worship and preaching in an open-air setting.
Unlike Rhema Feast, which ran for five days from August 31 to September 4, Grace Encounter will take place over two days and will feature a line-up of gospel ministers and musicians from Kenya and beyond.
Grace Encounter set for Uhuru Park
Grace Encounter 2026 will be held at Uhuru Park in Nairobi, the same venue that hosted Rhema Feast earlier this month. The event will begin at 10 am on both Saturday and Sunday, giving worshippers an opportunity to attend either or both days of the gathering.
The event is being hosted by Apostle David Owusu and organised under Grace Arena Ministries. Entry is free, meaning attendees will not need to purchase tickets to access the main event.
The gathering comes just weeks after Uhuru Park hosted thousands of Christians during Rhema Feast, which featured several prominent African preachers and gospel musicians.
Gospel music takes centre stage
One of the major attractions at Grace Encounter will be its international gospel music line-up. Rwandan gospel singer Israel Mbonyi is expected to perform at the event. The singer has built a strong following among Kenyan gospel music fans through his worship music and previous performances in the country.
Nigerian gospel singers Mercy Chinwo and Moses Bliss are also scheduled to feature at the gathering, adding an international dimension to the two-day programme. Pastor Poju Oyemade is also expected to be part of the event.
The combination of music and preaching is expected to give the gathering a format that allows attendees to move between worship sessions and messages throughout the day.
How Grace Encounter compares with Rhema Feast
Grace Encounter follows the successful Rhema Feast gathering, which attracted worshippers to Uhuru Park for five days of prayer, preaching and worship.
Rhema Feast 2026 was held under the theme “Come, Let Us Rebuild”, with international ministers including Apostle Joshua Selman, Apostle Michael Orokpo, Sinach, Dunsin Oyekan and others featuring during the programme.
The gathering also included a business forum focusing on areas such as enterprise, leadership, governance and integrity, according to the official Rhema Feast website. Grace Encounter, however, comes with a shorter two-day programme and a strong emphasis on gospel music, worship and Christian fellowship.
What attendees can expect
For those planning to attend, the event offers an opportunity to spend part of the weekend at an open-air Christian gathering without the cost of an entrance ticket. With the programme beginning at 10 am on both days, attendees can plan to arrive early, particularly those travelling from outside Nairobi.
The choice of Uhuru Park also makes the event accessible to many residents because of its location within the city centre.
As Nairobi continues to attract large Christian gatherings featuring both local and international ministers, Grace Encounter will provide another opportunity for gospel music lovers and worshippers to come together over the weekend.
