Kenyans jumped onto the challenge, sharing videos showing themselves taking part in cleanup activities in various locations.
Some injected some creativity into it, with their content creation skills shining through in a proud moment of patriotism as Kenyans take matters into their hands to sort out a mess that both the county government and the national government have failed to address.
With related music playing in the background, netizens shared their readiness for the Saturday cleanup exercise, with some cleaning the areas around their residences in preparation for tomorrow.
Within minutes, #Fagia Nairobi began to trend online, with netizens expressing their commitment to maintaining a clean city and urging those who dump garbage along roads and drainage to stop.
Blending humour with public health education and a call to action, Kenyans responded overwhelmingly with short videos that were shared by the comedian on his social media accounts.
New initiative after fatal floods
The philanthropist put out a statement across his social media platforms on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, announcing the new initiative dubbed Fagia Nairobi.

Acknowledging the failures of the political leadership, Omondi noted that it is time for city residents to take matters into their hands and remedy the situation.
“Nairobi is our home; we will not WAIT anymore. We will act to prevent further death and destruction. Let’s all meet at Uhuru Park this Saturday at 8 am. Carry a broom, a rake, a glove and a mask. Comment with #FagiaNairobi if you’ll be joining us. SEE YOU SATURDAY,” he declared.
