Eric Omondi resumes walk to Mombasa after defying injuries

Comedian Eric Omondi resumed his walk from Nairobi to Mombasa on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

Omondi, who spent the night in Machakos after covering 68 kilometres on day one of the walk, hit the road with his team, livestreaming the daring journey.

An earlier update by the comedian saw many shower him with praises for the sacrifices made for a worthy cause, with hope that he will rise above injuries to make it to Mombasa.

He is expected to cover a distance of 486 kilometres, with his final destination being Mama Ngina Waterfront Park in Mombasa, where he is expected to arrive on February 14, 2026.

Injuries on Day 1

The philanthropist was left nursing several injuries on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, after trekking from Nyayo National Stadium to Machakos.

He provided an update stating that he had injuries on the leg and hip, but vowed to soldier on, even if it means crawling for the rest of the journey.

LAZIMA TUTAFIKA MOMBASA HATA KAMA NI BY FIRE!!! Today I tore/Injured Ligaments on my left leg and hip, but Kesho tutaendelea hata Kama tuna crawl,” Omondi said.

This loosely translates to: We must reach Mombasa through any means possible. Today I tore/injured ligaments on my left leg and hip, but the walk continues tomorrow even if it means crawling,” Omondi stated.

Celebrities who joined Eric Omondi on the road

The activist was flagged off at Nyayo Stadium by Daddy Owen, who also prayed for his mission.

Several celebrities turned up and joined him along the way, covering some distance on foot as a show of solidarity and wishing him well.

Jeff Koinange, Churchill, Amber Ray, MC Tricky, Khaligraph Jones, Carol Radul, and Daddy Owen are among those who joined him on the way, declaring support for his noble initiative giving it enhanced publicity and increasing the buzz generated by the daring initiative.

Why Eric is walking to Mombasa

Dubbed “The Walk of Love,” Omondi embarked on the journey to raise funds to establish a help and rescue centre.

The initiative has been backed by several corporates, well-wishers and loyal supporters of his charity, dubbed Team Sisi Kwa Sisi.

“TEAM SISI KWA SISI I am walking from Nairobi to Mombasa to raise Funds to build The SISI KWA SISI HELP AND RESCUE CENTRE,” the comedian said in a recent update.

Upon completion, the facility will have a warehouse, two ambulances, a clinic and a free secondary school.

The facility will be a lasting legacy of the comedian’s philanthropy that has seen him impact many lives.
