Veteran entertainer DJ Afro Amigos has promised to open up about his journey in the entertainment industry following his high-profile role as the official commentator during the much-talked-about bout between Majembe and Mbavu Destroyer.

He revealed that during the session, he intends to finally share the origin of the name “Mutina,” a topic that has long sparked curiosity among his followers.

“Alright… so guys, tonight I will go live to interact with my fans at 8pm as I thank all of you,” he wrote.

He also invited his audience to interact with him during the live session, encouraging those familiar with the origin of the name to share their thoughts ahead of the reveal.

“You will also get to know where the name ‘Mutina’ came from. If you know where the name came from, comment down below,” he added.

His announcement comes just hours after he headlined commentary at the electrifying Vurugu Fight Night, where Majembe emerged victorious after defeating Mbavu Destroyer in a dramatic encounter that captured national attention.

Vurugu clash

The highly anticipated clash took place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi, drawing massive crowds and widespread online engagement.

The bout, which had been fuelled by weeks of social media rivalry and hype, ended in dramatic fashion after Majembe delivered a decisive blow that left Mbavu Destroyer unable to continue.

The fight, initially scheduled for multiple rounds, was stopped in the fourth round after Mbavu sustained what appeared to be a low blow and required medical attention.

Judges ultimately awarded the victory to Majembe, who had dominated the earlier rounds, securing the win by unanimous decision and claiming the coveted Vurugu Championship Belt along with cash prizes and other rewards.

He also described the event as his return to live commentary, assuring viewers that he would perform in his true style and bring his signature flair back to the spotlight.

His presence at the event followed his official appointment as the fight’s commentator by media personality Oga Obinna, a move that was widely welcomed by fans who had long associated DJ Afro with entertaining, movie-style narration.
