Cindy Ogana opens up on tough year marked by multiple funerals

On Friday, March 27, 2026, she explained that the emotional weight has been heavy, especially after losing close people in her life.
She shared that she recently attended a second burial in the same week. She said the frequency of these moments has been overwhelming, forcing her to reflect on the year so far. She added that the experience has been painful and hard to process.
“Another day, another road trip to bury someone, the 2nd one this week, the 3rd burial this year. May God be gracious in quarter 2,” Cindy Ogana said.

She explained that the series of losses has made her hope for a better period ahead. She said she is now looking toward the next quarter with faith, asking for grace after what she described as a tough start to the year.
Cindy Ogana said this year has already brought deep personal pain. Earlier in the year, she lost her mother, a loss that continues to affect her.
Reflecting on her mother’s life
She shared details about her mother, describing her as a strong and expressive person. She said her mother influenced many parts of her life, from her love for music to her sense of style. She added that her presence is deeply missed.
“My mum, Mary Atieno, has transitioned,” Cindy Ogana said.
She explained that her mother inspired her to embrace life fully. She said many of the things she does today come from her mother’s influence. She added that her mother lived freely and stayed true to herself.

“She is the reason I do a lot of the things I do. Dance- Sing- Wear African attire- Laugh out loud,” Cindy Ogana said.
She also spoke about her mother’s personality and what she loved. She said her mother had a deep love for family and simple joys in life. She added that her faith was also an important part of who she was.
“She loved perfumes, oranges, her children, her grandkids and her devotion to the blessed Virgin Mary,” Cindy Ogana said.
She expressed her grief and the lasting impact of the loss. She said she continues to mourn her mother while holding on to the memories they shared. She added that the pain of losing her remains strong.
