DJ Joe Mfalme has mourned his mother, Millicent Munoru, who passed on after a brave battle with cancer on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

The renowned DJ penned a glowing tribute honouring his mother’s life while coming to terms with her demise.

In a statement across his social media platforms on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the grieving DJ conveyed the depth of his grief.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, beloved mum to Joseph Mwenda (DJ Joe Mfalme) and Fiona Mwendwa, following a brave battle with cancer on Wednesday, 25th March 2026,” he wrote.

His statement captured the pain of a grieving son mourning the loss of an icon who shaped his journey and offered guidance.

DJ Joe Mfalme’s tribute

The DJ eulogised the deceased as a loving mother who was kind and touched many lives during her lifetime, adding that she will be missed dearly.

“She was a kind, loving, and warm soul who touched many lives, and she will be dearly missed.

He also appealed for prayers as during this difficult time, adding that more information will be shared in due course as the family embarks on preparations to give the deceased her final sendoff.

“We humbly ask for your prayers during this difficult time. Further details will be shared in due course,” he added.

The grieving family has embarked on planning her funeral, with well-wishers also invited to contribute towards the same.

A poster shared by the renowned DJ provided details through which those who wish to contribute may channel their contributions.

Strong show of solidarity amid grief

The sad news saw fans and celebrities alike camp on the comments section of his post in a strong show of solidarity to condole with the family.
