Content creator Chebet Ronoh has shared a frightening experience where she says she was chased by a man she believed was mentally unstable while heading to the gym.

On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, she explained that the incident happened shortly after she had dismissed a similar story from someone else. The experience left her shaken as she tried to escape the situation safely.

“Do you know how they say, ’Don’t laugh at people’s experiences because it is going to be you?'” Chebet Ronoh said.

She explained that she once heard a girl talk about being chased and beaten by a mad person, but did not take it seriously. She said she questioned how such situations even happen and brushed it off at the time. However, she now says things changed quickly after that moment.

“I recall a girl saying, you know, I have ever been chased and beaten by a mad person? I was like where do you even get a mad person, bro?” she said.

Ronoh explained that her experience began as she walked to the gym with her earphones on. She said she noticed a man carrying papers who looked unusual and started moving towards her. She added that she tried to ignore him at first and continued walking.

Fear grows as situation escalates

She explained that after walking past the man, she could still feel his eyes on her, which made her panic. She said the situation became worse when she suddenly felt someone touch her from behind. At that moment, she says fear took over.

“I was walking, I had my earphones on to the gym. Tell me why this guy is carrying papers; he looked crazy. So this mad guy started approaching me, I walked past him, and I could see his eyes stay on me,” she explained.

“I started panicking, so as I walked, I heard someone touch me. I felt like it was my crucifixion day,” she said.

Ronoh, who has been vocal about her alcohol-free life, added that the man kept walking behind her as she tried to create distance between them. She said the more she moved, the angrier he seemed to get, which increased her fear during the incident.

“When you are being approached by a mad person, no one will help you. I started walking away, and this guy started walking too,” she said.
